In order to celebrate SIGA Slate’s 10th anniversary a dedicated Twitter campaign – #loveSIGAslate – has been unveiled via SIGA’s new Twitter account, @SIGASlate.
Running throughout the month of January 2015, followers of the new Twitter account can win a three day trip for two to O’Barco, Spain, where they will experience great food, lively Spanish culture and a hosted tour of a slate mine in the heart of the Spanish quarrying region, simply by tweeting images of their SIGA slate installations. Captioned with the name of the slate and location of the project, followers have multiple opportunities to enter and winners will be judged by a senior member of the SIGA management team.
By simply tweeting images of their SIGA slate installations, captioned with the name of the slate and location of the project, followers have multiple opportunities to enter. Winners will be judged by a senior member of the SIGA management team.
For the winner, this will be an amazing experience, learning about the processes involved in producing natural slate. They will learn about the geology of slate as they visit a slate mine, an open-sky quarry and see the material being extracted from the mountain. They will follow the slate down to the splitting sheds, where it is sawn into workable blocks and hand-split and sorted to produce finished slates. The winner will witness the passion and attention to detail taken in all these processes, and even have a go at splitting their own slates. Runner up prizes are a 16GB iPad and a £50 Capital Bond voucher.
Ben Saunders, Marketing Manager – Customer Proposition at SIG UK Exteriors comments: “What better way to honour SIGA’s 10th anniversary than to launch our very own #loveSIGAslate campaign? Everyone’s a winner as not only do new and existing followers of @SIGASlate get a chance to scoop a trip to Spain visiting one of our very own SIGA quarries, all images will be retweeted for added publicity.”
“As well as the competition, @SIGASlate will serve as a hub of knowledge throughout the campaign period, dispensing information, facts, tips and advice relating to SIGA and natural slate,” adds Ben.
First launched in 2004, over 13 million SIGA slates are sold each year across the UK from a range largely sourced directly from the quarries across the world including Spain, Wales, Brazil and China and Canada. Quality lies at the heart of all things SIGA and the brand works closely with producers to supply slate that not only meets performance criteria, but aesthetic and budget requirements too. In honour of the campaign, a specially designed #loveSIGAslate logo will be used throughout all promotional publicity.
