What is the lowest pitch for natural slate?

According to BS 5534 [Code of Practice for Slating and Tiling] the minimum pitch for double lap slating is 20 degrees in a moderate exposure area and 22.5 degrees in a severe exposure area.

If you wish to slate at lower pitches there are additional things you can do. Please contact your slate specialist for more information or drop us a line.
